Independent Strategic Advisory · Switzerland
We consult, educate, and advise corporations, family businesses, professional investors, and high-net-worth individuals. No products. No retrocessions. Complete independence.
* Figures reflect cumulative advisory activity across all mandates. Assets Advised refers to total assets under advisory engagement, not assets under management. Client Retention calculated over a rolling 5-year period. Past engagement outcomes are not indicative of future results.
Our Mandate
Thaurum operates across five distinct mandates. Each one demands deep expertise, absolute discretion, and an unwavering commitment to the client's interest — never our own.
We work directly with corporate leadership to build financial literacy, evaluate strategic decisions, and develop robust frameworks for capital allocation, risk management, and long-term value creation.
Corporate AdvisoryMulti-generational wealth and family enterprise require a different kind of counsel. We guide ownership transitions, governance structures, and succession strategies that honour legacy while securing future prosperity.
Family OfficeFor clients managing significant personal wealth, we provide an education-first advisory — ensuring deep understanding of their financial position before any strategy is recommended or implemented.
Private WealthWe provide institutional investors with an independent perspective — stress-testing assumptions, identifying blind spots, and delivering the strategic clarity required to act with conviction in complex markets.
InstitutionalWhen portfolios are underperforming or structurally fragile, we conduct rigorous independent analysis and oversee disciplined restructuring programmes with clear, measurable outcomes.
RestructuringEvery engagement begins with a conversation — not a product.
Begin the ConversationThaurum does not sell financial products, manage assets directly, or accept retrocessions. Our sole obligation is to our client. This independence is not a feature — it is the foundation.
Success Stories
A selection of completed engagements — anonymised in accordance with our strict confidentiality policy.
A corporate client held the majority of its assets in precious metals. While the trading department had solid commodities experience, its knowledge of derivatives was limited — and the exclusive use of forward transactions had produced a 9% loss.
A CEO sought to strengthen his trading department, believing that both performance and pricing could be meaningfully improved. The pricing model offered by their long-standing counterparties was identified as the primary drag on results — yet the team lacked the tools to change it.
An entrepreneur with an aggressive risk profile and diverse activities spanning real estate, media, and communications sought an absolute return strategy — but had limited experience of financial markets.
A professional investor managing his own finances through a major banking platform recognised that emotion was affecting his decision-making and leading to suboptimal outcomes. He wanted to remain in full control while consistently outperforming a passive strategy.
An entrepreneur with a moderate risk profile lost nearly 30% of his assets in six months. With limited knowledge of financial markets, he had relied entirely on his counterparty's recommendations. As conditions deteriorated, he received no meaningful support or follow-up on his positions.
How We Work
We do not follow a template. Every engagement begins with deep listening and independent analysis — before any recommendation is made.
A confidential, no-obligation conversation to understand your situation and what success looks like. We ask more questions than we answer.
A thorough, independent review of your current financial, structural, and strategic position — before forming any view or recommendation.
We ensure you fully understand your situation and the options available. An informed client makes better long-term decisions. We never recommend what is not understood.
Clear, actionable guidance delivered with full transparency on our reasoning, assumptions, and the limits of our advice.
Our most valued relationships span decades. We remain a trusted, confidential advisor through changing circumstances, markets, and generations.
